Bnei Akiva, the religious Zionist youth movement,
inspires and empowers Jewish youth with a deep
commitment to the Jewish People and the
Land of Israel.  Bnei Akiva members strive to
live lives of Torah va’Avodah, combining Torah
learning and observance with active contribution
to the Jewish people and society.

Spending an extended period of time in Israel and learning about the country through personal interaction is integral to your development.

Nothing has the power to put a lifetime of Jewish education into context as Hachshara does.

Hachshara is not a ‘year off’ but is a serious ‘year on’. It is also going to be the most action-packed and fun year of your life.

You will experience another culture, test your independent abilities, and do something meaningful at the onset of your adult life.

On Hachshara you’ll be more independent than you’ve ever been, yet you can relax in the knowledge that your needs are being looked after.

Our programs are aimed at familiarizing you with real life in Israel as a preparation for Aliyah, but also – and no less important – preparing you for returning to your community to take up leadership roles within Bnei Akiva and in the community at large.

During the year, you’ll also get to meet participants on our other year-long programs from all over the world. On Hachshara, you’ll create global friendships that will last forever.
