About Tafnit North America
Dear parents and students,
Choosing a year program is not an easy task.
There are many outstanding programs out there catering to the diverse interests of the many students.
Your task, being quite difficult, is to find the right program for you. This program should address your specific needs. Therefore, I advise you to carefully research your options in order to find the most suitable match.
In Hachshara, World Bnei Akiva year programs' department There are over 300 students from 30 different countries in these programs. Our goal in Tafnit North America, is to get our students to grow in their love for Torah, Eretz Yisrael (the land of Israel) and Am Yisrael (the people of Israel).
This program is suitable for students who are not interested in a full time learning program but are looking to experience Israel with exciting activities and volunteering while learning part of the time and at the same time earning credits.
Raban Gamliel teaches us "יפה תלמוד תורה עם דרך ארץ שיגיעת שניהם משכחת עוון" – "Great is study of the Torah when combined with a worldly occupation, for toil in them both puts sin out of mind".
In order to be close to Hashem and distance ourselves from sin, we must be involved in both learning Torah as well as in worldly activities. Many young people should be sitting and learning in Yeshivot/Seminaries for the entire year and only then should look ahead and pursue other occupations (working). But some young adults need to spend their year in Israel busy with other activities along with learning Torah in order to grow. Tafnit North America provides the state of the art programming for such young adults.
Our students will learn in a Yeshiva/Seminary, strengthen their Jewish identity in our Leadership Institute and will have the opportunity to experience one of the top academic institutions in Israel – The Ariel University Center. Furthermore, they will volunteer at a Kibbutz and for the Magen David Adom of Israel or experience what Israeli soldiers do at our Marva program. Finally, they will be involved in doing tremendous acts of Chessed at one of Israel's development towns. Add all that to the countless Tiyulim (trips) that we have and you have an outstanding experience!
After such a stimulating year - personal growth is virtually assured!
May Hashem guide you in finding the right program.
I wish you Hatzlacha Rabbah!
Sincerely
Rivka Speiser
